Milestone’s Joint Venture, “Nexstar”, launches Backstage HD

Milestone, the AIM quoted (AIM: MSG) provider of digital media and technology solutions, is pleased to announce further to the announcement made on 20 July 2015 in relation to “Nexstar”, the vehicle formed through its joint venture with Black Cactus Holdings Pty Ltd, that Nexstar has now launched its flagship digital delivery platform – Backstage HD. Milestone has a 51% interest in Nexstar.

The Backstage HD digital delivery platform, built and managed by Black Cactus Holdings Pty Ltd, allows users to access an unparalleled range of global digital content including movies, TV shows, eBooks, music, apps and games from a range of global partners.

The Backstage HD platform allows Milestone plc the opportunity to provide consumers access to the platform directly or via an affiliated commercial or charitable partner as a revenue generating white label solution. This capability further enhances the Board’s vision of building a media brand synonymous with generating social impact.

Since its launch the platform has received significant industry interest and is already starting to generate revenues.

The platform’s unique structure and array of relationships with Tier 1 providers gives Nexstar a significant competitive advantage and the site can be seen at nexstarrewards.com.

The Backstage HD platform is set to expand in 2016 with additional bespoke platforms including travel and sports currently in development.

A marketing campaign is planned for Q4 2015 ahead of the key Christmas trading period.
